Dear KGS administrator "wms", if you read this article, please ban "top" KGS player breakfast, 3-dan professional also know as backpast, 9-dan.
On 2009-02-11 in the news sections of KGS on this site he indirectly admitted himself to be using databases during play on KGS. Using databases on KGS is just as frowned upon.
In particular, this concerns the game dotanuki 7d vs backpast 9d, on 2006-01-22 resembling Dong Yan vs Kong Jie, 2001.

Kayres:
Good point. Public accusations, especially in light of the fact that he himself has played with databases, is somewhat having a bad standard.
But again, some people argue that this site is for "sensations". I myself don't like sensationalism, so I am wondering why I check this site regularly.

I, of course, think that it is cheating to use databases or help if you play on the internet. Servers like Kgs are there to simulate a real game - in a real game you cannot use any help as well. This is cheating.
But, and this is the more important point for me, breakfast puts both the players in a very uncomfortable position. If you have a problem with those players to use databases, so please feel free to tell them. Or tell an admin about this.
But 1. what is the point to do this publicly? Do you want their images people have about them to be changed? If so, it is not acceptable what you do.
2. why do you not use their nicknames but instead use their real names here? I think this is an argument for 1. And I do think that this was your aim. So I firstly apologize for judging this, but i do judge it. This is unacceptable. And I think you know this, breakfast.
If anything happens which is against any rule, you should not make this public. If you tried to solve it privatly and it did not work, I understand this step. But i do not think that you did. You posted this immediately- with the names. Unbelievable.
Furtermore I want to agree with Imperator. If anyone uses help via internet, they will have problems in real games where they cannot use any help.
It is cheating. But they way breakfast deals with it is more important. This is not allright.
Greetings

This is hilarious. Way to make an arse of yourself pointing fingers. ;)
Yes, a lot of people use sites like brugo and databases. And they are worse of for it. Yes, if two people use databases when playing against each other, they are likely to walk into a given game in the database and play that out. But if they eventually go of track, they are stuck with a game they have not even played themselves. Most of the times if people play games with databases where the opponent does not follow a database, it goes of track faster and they are struck with a fuseki or joseki they probably don't understand properly anyway, or else why would they need the database in the first place?
Yes, I notice several times when I play against people that some players stop up in their playing tempo when I go in to a certain joseki, having the same rhythm about when they place moves. Like they first see what I play, place the move in a database, then choose a line, then place a move in KGS. Some of them might just have that playing tempo, some of them might be using brugo or something similar. Do they have an advantage of it? I doubt it. I actually think using a crutch like that is a handicap.
It is like using a joseki book while you are playing. It just makes you worse of for not understanding what you are playing.
I don't understand why people are shocked though. This type of behavior was inevitable. Apart from tournaments and such, it does not really matter either. If some people chose to use a database while playing against me, and they actually play better because of it, I am just glad to have a more challenging matchup. But when it comes to tournaments, the interesting question here is if a player actually has a benefit from using a database?
A lower ranked player would probably not understand the moves and get himself into a situation where he is worse of. Stronger players should not need it and I feel it becomes more a psychological crutch and not something needed to improve playing.
What do other people think?

This the real go sensation. IMO it makes internet tournaments and qualifications unthinkable.

Thanks Takami!
I don't get how one can fake embarassement while doing the same oneself. Especially as people would probably be interested in this page even without fake sensations.
