Background:

Awhile back, somebody asked for more details about gaofeng(P), and I didn't have much information to give them.  Today, gaofeng(P) decided to play on Tygem, so I decided to look a little bit more.  

What I had overlooked before was the actual non-English userid that gaofeng(P) has, which is 강진열(P).  That is, gaofeng(P) is actually 강진열(P)/gaofeng(P).  

In any event, when I did some research on 강진열(P), it turns out that there actually have been a couple of things said about him in some articles on the web.  One such source can be found here: http://baduk.ohmynews.com/news/news/viewpage.asp?pagec=1&seq=10318&gubun=C

Of particular interest are the two paragraphs which read as follows:

강진열(P)은 대국실에서 '강동윤이 아니냐'는 말들이 많다. 일단 성씨가 같고 워낙 속기이며 승륭 또한 높기 때문이다. 들리는 얘기로는 한국랭킹 10위 이내의 기사라는 말이 설득력 있다. 강진열(P)의 대국실은  거의 900명까지 관전객이 들어온다. 그 900명이 단순구경을 한 것은 아닐테고...

베팅초보인 필자은 강진열(P)에게 터젬머니 1억5000만원 정도를 걸었다가 한몫에 탁 털리고 말았다. 계속 지켜 본 결과 붙는 족족 다 이기길래 '이번에도 이기리라' 믿었던 것이 실착이었다. 필자가 거는 판만 패했기 때문이다. 개인적으로는 가장 싫어하는(?) 기사이다.

From this we can gather that it seems to be somewhat widely believed that there is a possibility that 강진열(P) is in fact 강동윤 9p (though perhaps part of this belief is due to the similarity between the first part of their names).  

Whether 강진열(P)/gaofeng(P) is in fact 강동윤 9p or not, he certainly draws a large crowd for a lot of his games!
