Today over 400 observers gathered to watch a game between 本因坊/love2008 9d and roz 9d.  As many of you probably know, 本因坊 is how to write "Honinbo" (http://senseis.xmp.net/?honinbo) with Chinese characters.  But even though 本因坊/love2008 is certainly a strong player, his record as a 9d is not quite up to par with some of the other game stats that we've seen...  On the other hand, professional players have been known to play as low as at the 8d level on Tygem at times, so perhaps 本因坊/love2008 could still be a strong player in real life.

In contrast, the opponent, roz 9d, has a pretty good score as a 9d, having won 14 of the last 20 games.  This player uses the Chinese client, and seems to have scored quite well in a recent Tongyang tournament:

Here, we can see that ross advanced through his first 3 games pretty quickly, only having lost to rrx on 4-10-2009.
