New Move in the Chinese Opening ('cutebaby' 9d vs. 'MilanMilan' 9d)
Black: 'MilanMilan' 9d (Liu Yuanbo 2p)
White: 'cutebaby' 9d (from China? Plays
mostly handicap games)
This is the first time they played each
other, and as it was a blitz game,
the winner was whoever had the sharpest reading ability: in this case,
'MilanMilan' was the strongest fighter.
After the game 'cutebaby' mentioned D15 (move 9) so I guess that s/he was
also surprised to see it! I added some notes to explain that move's meaning in
the game file.
It seems that D15 really is a Chinese
invention - it was first played by Wang Xi 5p (do you have any older game
records with this move?) and he won that game. I also added those variations in
the sgf.
From what I have seen, this move works
very nicely for Black, and it is not easy for White to get a good result
locally. It's a good plan for the Chinese Opening!
