Lee Changho puts the pressure on a relatively new Tygem 9d!

Today's match brings about yet another encounter of swing(P)/ioiwin(P) 9d, who is believed by many to be the legendary Lee Changho.  This spectacular player has been showing up to play games on Tygem somewhat sporadically, but whenever he does show up, he never fails to please the spectating crowd.

The opponent is CSdude 9d, who appears to be a bit new to the "9d business".  CSdude 9d had a series of wins that brought him up to 9d, but for the past few games as a 9d, he has been losing.  His play is, nonetheless, still quite good.

The fuseki for this game seems somewhat standard to me, with black constructing a framework on the right, and white playing efficiently along the top.  Black plays lightly on the left side in response to white's move at B15.  A familiar joseki is played out in the bottom left, and black puts his C14 stone into action.  My SDK intuition found this to be a bit of an interesting choice, since white was able to create a nice wall around D13, facing the wall made at the bottom left.  In other words, from my own standpoint, saving the C14 stones seemed to help white.  Others may very well disagree, though.  White proceeded to attack the group, still being able to claim territory in the upper left corner.

Shortly after surrounding the C14 group, White played what looked to me to be a forcing move at Q10, presumably to see how Black would respond.  What I didn't notice at the time, was that Q10 was a ladder breaker.  Black noticed this and played at K3 to prevent the ladder.

Black went on to make life on the left side, and white followed up on his move at Q10.  White then went on to capture more stones in the left center area around G8, and continued to attack and put pressure on the black group in the center.  In the end, White was successful in winning the game.
