Young Russian Go Player has European Success

Anytime a young go player has success playing against some of Europe’s best players in a big tournament – players should take note. Rada Kamysheva’s recent 3rd place result at the European Pair Go tournament sparked the interest of many players at the tournament, and it also prompted me to introduce her and present one of her recent games.

Rada began taking lessons from me on KGS shortly after learning the rules of go.  Rada was unranked at the time and had never played a game on KGS.  Her only experiences of go came from playing against the computer or against her parents, who were also beginners. Fast-forward 2 years – and she is now ranked 5 kyu on KGS and starting to show signs of real potential.

Oh, and did I mention that she is only 8-years old.

This is a game between Rada (atatasha) and a 3 kyu ranked player on KGS named Lambic12.  Rada played without komi.  In this game, White played poorly in fuseki and later lost two groups during ko fights. In the end, Black won by 6.5 points.

To be honest, the news about the korean insei league seemed a lot more biased (and effectively boring) to me.

Shikshina at least was more discrete and only added a small link at the end of her news, which I consider fair. I prefer that compared to Dinerchsteins approach.

all the other articles are fine, but this specific one stands out as an ad for a specific teacher. all the other articles didnt do such things, they promoted tournaments and interesting news

let's propose to take all personal and country names out of all the articles and news, and remove any photo which provides hints about who these people are. that way only go is advertised and not the people playing. all fears and concerns should be alleviated.

all im saying is, the only reason shes mentioned is cuz she takes lessons from the publisher, i feel this is just an ad for shikshina

an 8-year-old 5k is nothing special, China has hundreds of 5 dan kids her age. for a European girl, however, she is pretty good.

Lots of meaningless words. Go ahead, name them.
