New Move in the Chinese Opening ('cutebaby' 9d vs. 'MilanMilan' 9d)

Black: 'MilanMilan' 9d (Liu Yuanbo 2p)

White: 'cutebaby' 9d (from China? Plays mostly handicap games)

This is the first time they played each other, and as it was a blitz game, the winner was whoever had the sharpest reading ability: in this case, 'MilanMilan' was the strongest fighter.

After the game 'cutebaby' mentioned D15 (move 9) so I guess that s/he was also surprised to see it! I added some notes to explain that move's meaning in the game file.

It seems that D15 really is a Chinese invention - it was first played by Wang Xi 5p (do you have any older game records with this move?) and he won that game. I also added those variations in the sgf.

From what I have seen, this move works very nicely for Black, and it is not easy for White to get a good result locally. It's a good plan for the Chinese Opening!

Where can I find that game of Peng Quan? First time I saw this move it's played by Iwata Tatsuaki and Mimura Tomoyasu in 2002, but they have J16 instead of J17. First one with J17 indeed seems to be Wang Xi 2005.
