Ilya Shikshin 7dan (a.k.a. roln111 8d KGS) has been featured here on GoSensations.com a number of times lately, but today was one of the first times that I've seen him play against the famous yagumo 8d KGS - a player believed to be the great rapyuta from KGS.

Another interesting fact to note, which many of you may already be familiar with, is that Shikshin is the younger brother of the first European female professional player, Svetlana Shikshina (a.k.a. redrose).  This may not be news to many of you, but in any case, it's an interesting fact about roln111.

Today's game was played under typical time settings for yagumo 8d KGS, with both players starting out with 3 periods of 10 second byo-yomi.  Still, roln111 was just as fast if not faster than yagumo throughout the whole game.  In fact, at the end of the game, it was not roln111 but yagumo himself who was on his last period of byo-yomi!

Even though blitz seems to be yagumo's specialty, it seems that for this fast-paced and exciting match, roln111 beat yagumo at his own game!
