The road from 11-kyu to 9-dan is not that far :)

Natass is a strong Chinese player on KGS. His strength must be between 7 or 8 dan.
He made a big mistake in "fuseki" - he played the first game on the server with 12-kyu and the second one with 23-rd kyu.
KGS ranking system agreed, that he is good, and gave him 11-kyu grade to start from :)
Natass made 15 wins straight and reached 9-dan easily. Was it interesting for him to play with much weaker players?
I don't think so.
So, always start from someone near your real level, or stronger :)
