Robert Jasiek (sum on KGS) and tricky New Zealand rules

There is not only a fun fuseki in this game. Please check the last 20 moves.  Ilya missed his chance to win the game, because he connected last ko, instead of taking dame points first and forcing his opponent to say: pass.
I added the right way of finishing this game
Even 8-dan KGS players have to learn Go rules!

For some basic theory on ko and dame endgames see:

http://home.snafu.de/jasiek/kodame.pdf

This is essentially the same under all Area Scoring rulesets like NZ Rules, C Rules, AGA Rules, Ing Rules, Simplified Ing Rules, French Rules, BGA Rules, Tromp-Taylor Rules.

Half point ko is 4 points worth sometimes! The best idea for Chinese and NZ rules is to force your opponent to say pass

So "dame" points are worth more than filling in half-point ko's in NZ rules? Is this true for Chinese rules too, then? Or any rule set that counts stones rather than territory within stones?
