'Korondo' 9d is back!
You
may remember Youngsam Kim's impressive journey to become the 2011 European Open
Champion. He told us in an interview for GoSensations, before the European Go
Congress, that he was planning to win the Open, and indeed he managed to do
just that, with the perfect score of 10-0!
He
is now playing as Korondo on KGS
again, after a three-month break.
Today
he (playing as White) beat DaoCe 9d
in under 120 moves - a true sensation! - in a game where we could get a glimpse
into his enormous strength. A powerful attack started with W80 (J4), and
Black's whole group all of a sudden turned out to be in great danger. W118 (R9)
was the coup de grace: the Black
dragon was captured and DaoCe was
forced to resign.
PS:Korondo is currently the No. 1 ranked
player on KGS, according to the official 'Top 100 KGS Players'.
