"kghin" finally becomes 9-dan! Finally, after four years of playing on KGS, *kghin* achieved the rank of 9-dan! Chi Hin Chan (*kghin) is one of the most popular players on KGS. He is only 14 years old, and (for the second time in a row) he is going to represent Hong Kong in the next World Amateur Go Championship (which will be held in Guangzhou, China, from 11-18 May 2012). kghin* only took 15th place in the WAGC last year, which was a bit disappointing for his fans and for himself. This year he wants to do better: his own goal for the tournament is to be in the first six places. We wish him good luck!

Update: actually, Hutoshi4 is NOT going to be the Japanese representative in the WAGC 2012.

See kghin's KGS ranking graph and you know that it's only a question of months that he will play as a solid 9d there.
On Tygem he plays as "chihin" and does very well, too. He plays there more often than on KGS.

I wish him all the best for this year's WAGC. Wouldn't it be nice if he could play Hutoshi4 (KGS), the representative of Japan on a real board?

Does this mean, that kghin only plays against 9D??s from now on? Would be interesting to see, if he can keeps 9D, or does he drop down to 8D?

Is kghin first 9D~ (I mean first 9D who has this tilde ~ behind his ranking)?

kghin became 9d after beating fake 9d. Nidza92 is 6d on kgs. It's amazaing how not playing a few games he first reached 9d? and then losing to 8d became solid 9d.
