"Master of Sacrifice", zchen 8d, rivals Fighter12 7d. Can he profit from his lost stones?
Background:
zchen is the KGS username of Michael Zhaonian Chen 8d AGA. Some players' styles are hard to distinguish, but not so with zchen! His games are typically quite exciting, as a good percentage that I've personally viewed have involved large sacrifices by zchen to make profit in another place on the board. While it is in comprehensible to me how he can pull things together with these kind of sacrifices, he does it time and time again.
Fighter12's identity is currently unknown to me, but his style seems to live up to his name - he's a fighter!
In this exciting game, zchen allows Fighter12 an undo at move 11, thereafter seeming to have his groups split apart. A battle of weak groups ensues, later leading zchen to sacrifice a group of three stones, followed by a group of 5.
Can the "Master of Sacrifice" use his lost stones effectively to make a good enough result to win the game? Watch the game to find out!
Enjoy!
