We would to present you a recent game between Ilia Shikshin 7d and In-Seong Hwang 8d from Shusaku Cup 2010 which is being held in Romania. The game was broadcast on KGS by EuroGoTv and attracted 450+ observers. Both players won their games in previous rounds and have perfect score 2-0. As you might have notices In-Seong is 8 dan EGF, he was recently promoted to 8 dan after he won tournament in Berlin. Being a strong insei in Korea, he is close to professional level.

This year two top Chinese professional players Luo Xihe 9p and Huang Yinzhong 7p were invited to the tournament. EuroGoTv mentioned that In-Seong played a 2-stone handicap game against Luo Xihe, but unfortunately I don't know the result.

The game turned out to be difficult for Ilia from the very beginning. White obviously got bad result after his invasion (w moves 18 and 20). in-Seong handled invasion perfectly, exploring w's weakness in shape on the right side, sealing w's group and making him live painfully on the side. Then black attacked w's weak stones on the side, becoming very thick in the center and moreover b managed to inclose top right corner and get solid territory. Later In-Seong never gave Ilia chance to start a fight, playing very solidly and steadily. Eventually black won the game +5.5.
